About Stanley Park

Stanley Park is Blackpool's flagship green space, a Grade II* listed park of around 104 hectares that opened in 1926 and is owned and managed by Blackpool Council. It is free to enter and open dawn until dusk every day of the year, with a free car park at the West Park Drive entrance. Families gravitate to the animal-farm themed play area aimed at two to eight year olds, which mixes modern versions of playground classics such as swings, slides, climbing frames, see-saws, rocking horses and roundabouts with interactive pieces including a surfboard, rota web, play vehicle and 3D spring ride-ons. Older children have a separate timber adventure playground built in 2011. Beyond the playgrounds there is plenty to fill a day out: a 22-acre boating lake with boat hire, formal Italian gardens with a marble fountain, an Art Deco cafe, a bandstand, a skate park and BMX track, tennis courts, bowling greens, an athletics track and woodland nature trails. Public toilets and a visitors' centre add to the practicality, making Stanley Park a comfortable choice for a longer family visit rather than just a quick play.
