About Summerfield Park

Summerfield Park is a 25-acre traditional Victorian park on Dudley Road, between Winson Green and Edgbaston, managed by Birmingham City Council. It boasts attractive mature trees, planting and large grassed areas, and many of its historic features still remain, including wide tree-lined paths and an eye-catching brick bandstand. For families there are two children's play areas, giving plenty of room for younger visitors. Beyond the play areas the park offers accessible walking routes, a basketball court, a cricket pitch, football pitches, cycling routes and two tennis courts, making it a genuinely multi-activity space. Extended walking routes via the Northbrook Street entrance lead to the Birmingham Main Line Canal and Edgbaston Reservoir, and the park forms part of a signed 5km walking route linking the two. Note there are no toilets on site. With its Victorian heritage, two dedicated play areas and strong sports and walking provision, Summerfield Park is a characterful and versatile green space close to inner-city Birmingham.
