About Matlock Farm Park

Matlock Farm Park is an independently run family farm attraction on Jaggers Lane between Matlock and Chesterfield, set in the Derbyshire countryside. It brings together a wide range of native and non-native animals, from heavy horses, Highland cattle and ponies to piglets, alpacas, meerkats, wallabies, guinea pigs and reptiles, with small animal handling sessions and daily talks. Children can enjoy mini pedal tractors, the all-weather Enchanted Hamlet play park, a large jumping pillow (weather permitting) and an indoor play barn, while pony rides run at weekends and during school holidays. Opening hours are 10:00 to 15:30 on weekdays and 10:00 to 16:00 at weekends, and admission is charged with tickets available to book online. Facilities are strong for families: there is a large free car park, the Garden Room Cafe and Rainforest coffee shop plus outdoor food huts, three toilet blocks, two accessible toilets and a registered Changing Places facility. Main paths are smoothly tarmacked for wheelchairs and pushchairs, and the park holds an Accessible and Inclusive Tourism Gold Award. Only guide dogs are permitted because animals roam freely.
