About Greenmeadow Community Farm

Greenmeadow Community Farm has been part of the local community for over 250 years and is set in 120 acres of countryside at Cwmbran, a short drive north-east of Cardiff. It runs as a real working farm but is packed with hands-on experiences for the whole family. Children particularly enjoy the petting corner, where - with a parent alongside - youngsters are handed baby animals such as chicks, rabbits and guinea pigs wrapped in a towel to hold. Around the farm there is a wide variety of animals to meet, including sheep, goats, cattle, deer, tortoises and chickens, and visitors can watch cow-milking demonstrations and ride the tractor and trailer. Two separate play areas cater for smaller and bigger children, and a well-regarded cafe serves hot and cold food. Toilets and parking are on site. The farm is best for children aged two and over. Paid admission applies, and it is worth checking the official website for current prices, seasonal opening hours and whether to book ahead at busy times, as these vary through the year.
