About Spitalfields City Farm

Spitalfields City Farm is a free, charity-run city farm in East London, a well-loved green oasis where families can explore and learn about animals and farm life. Set on Buxton Street near Bethnal Green, it's home to a varied cast including donkeys, ponies, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, geese, ducks, rabbits, guinea pigs and ferrets, with paddocks and pens laid out so children can get a good look at everyone. Alongside the animals there's a children's play area, a wildlife area and community gardens, giving little visitors room to roam and plenty to discover beyond the farmyard. The on-site cafe serves tea, coffee and locally, ethically sourced food, and there's produce to buy too. Entry is free, with donations welcomed to support the charity's education and community work. Note there's no on-site parking and limited parking nearby, so public transport is the easiest way to arrive, and only registered assistance dogs are admitted. Open Tuesday to Sunday year-round (with slightly longer summer hours), it's a genuine, hands-on family attraction and one of the capital's best-known city farms.
