About Victoria Park

Victoria Park is a Green Flag award-winning 14-hectare park within walking distance of St Helens town centre, bordered by City Road, Bishop Road, Cowley Hill Lane and Rutland Street and managed by St Helens Borough Council. It is the last of the town's parks where the original manor house survives, giving the landscape an elegant backdrop. For families there are two play areas: one enclosed for younger children and another fitted with much larger equipment for older and more adventurous visitors. Alongside the playgrounds, a modern skate park draws skaters and stunt-bike riders from across town, with a welcoming feel that also suits learners and newcomers, and a teen shelter sits nearby. A modern enclosed ball court provides for basketball and five-a-side football. The park has held the Green Flag Award for ten consecutive years and hosts a regular parkrun, so there is plenty of space for walking, picnicking and informal games. Parking is available from the City Road entrance, which is the easiest way to arrive by car. With its mix of play, sport and open green space close to the centre, Victoria Park is one of the most popular free days out in St Helens for children and teenagers alike.
