About Ponciau Banks Park

Ponciau Banks Park is a traditional park lying between Ponciau and Rhosllanerchrugog, south-west of Wrexham, and is managed by Wrexham County Borough Council. Set on a hillside, it has a network of tarmac footpaths and seating with extensive views over the Cheshire plain. Families come for the fenced children's play area, designed for toddlers and junior age groups, which is kept separate from dogs and includes toddler and junior swings, a roundabout, spring mobiles, climbing frames, a rotating bar and slides. The park is unusually well equipped for older children and teenagers too: a BMX track installed in 2006 runs year-round with coaching sessions in the school holidays, and there is a skate park with an adjacent youth shelter. Two courts cater for tennis and basketball, Ponciau Banks Park Bowling Club runs two crown greens, and the park also has a bandstand and a Gorsedd stone circle. Entry is free. There are two car parks: a free car park at the top entrance off Baptist Street and a lower car park reached via School Lane and Clarke Street. The nearest postcode is LL14 1RL.
