About Acton Park
Acton Park is a 24-hectare (64-acre) park about half a mile north of Wrexham city centre, run by Wrexham County Borough Council and a Green Flag Award winner every year since 2016. Formed from the grounds of the former Acton Hall Estate, demolished in the 1950s, it combines woodland, open parkland and formally planted areas with a network of mixed-surface paths. Families head for the modern children's play area for toddlers and juniors, which is fenced to keep dogs out and has safer surfacing beneath the equipment, giving younger children a secure place to play. The park's historic lake is a focal point and supports fishing for members and day-ticket holders, while two free tarmac tennis courts (bookable year-round) and a bowling green add to the sport on offer. Managed wildflower areas and a wetland habitat encourage wildlife across the grounds. Entry to the park and playground is free. There is limited parking in three areas off Herbert Jennings Avenue, Tapley Avenue, and behind the Cunliffe pub on Jeffreys Road. The nearest postcode is LL12 7YG.
