About Barnford Park
Barnford Park sits in the heart of Oldbury and was donated to the people of the town, and it is now managed by Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council. It is a genuine family park, with children's play areas split for ages four to eight and eight to fourteen so younger and older children each have their own space. Around the playgrounds the park offers plenty more to do, including a skate park, a multi-use games area, trim trail outdoor gym equipment and a maze area that children enjoy exploring. There are grass sports pitches used for football and cricket, a youth shelter, a community pavilion and a gentle gazebo walk through the parkland, giving the space a relaxed, village-green feel close to the centre of Oldbury. Accessibility is well considered, with accessible parking, ramped and level access, and guide dogs are welcome. A car park makes it easy to visit. With its mix of play, sport, gentle walks and open green space, Barnford Park is a well-rounded local park that is free to enter and open to the public at all times.
