About Loundsley Green Playing Field
Loundsley Green Playing Field is a community green space off Pennine Way in the Loundsley Green area to the west of Chesterfield, managed by Chesterfield Borough Council and free to use. As part of the borough's recent investment in play, the playground was upgraded with a distinctive castle-themed climbing frame, swings and a dragon springer, with the final design chosen with the help of children from Brockwell Junior School. For older children and teenagers, a new concrete skate park has been built and the multi-use games area has been refurbished, giving the site strong appeal across age groups. The playing field itself provides open grassed space for informal ball games, kickabouts and running around. As a neighbourhood facility it is primarily aimed at local families and young people rather than visitors travelling from further afield, and it does not have the wider amenities of the borough's larger parks. With its themed play equipment and modern wheeled-sports provision, Loundsley Green Playing Field is a lively, free local destination for play and active recreation in this part of Chesterfield.
