About Poolsbrook Country Park
Poolsbrook Country Park sits between Poolsbrook and Staveley to the east of Chesterfield, with its main entrance off Erin Road. Created on a reclaimed former colliery site, it is now a green country park of lakes, meadows and woodland that is free to visit and open all year round. Families will find children's play areas and a modern concrete skate park, the latter built as part of Chesterfield Borough Council's recent investment in play facilities alongside a refurbished multi-use games area. The park offers free parking for over 100 cars and public toilets open daily, and the Coffee Stop Cafe serves hot and cold drinks and food. There is plenty of space to roam, with waymarked cycle trails, horse trails, an orienteering route and picnic tables, while the lakes are popular for angling. A Camping and Caravanning Club touring caravan site with 85 pitches sits within the park for those wanting to stay longer. Managed by Chesterfield Borough Council, Poolsbrook is a spacious, family-friendly destination for play, cycling, fishing and walks close to nature.
