About Salt Hill Park

Salt Hill Park has been Slough's premier park for more than 100 years. It was given to the town in 1907 by James Elliman Junior, of the Elliman's Embrocation family, to be kept as a recreation ground for local people, and it retains its Edwardian character alongside up-to-date facilities. For families it is a genuine destination, with two children's play areas plus a skate area, climbing wall and parkour equipment for older and more adventurous children, and an outdoor gym nearby. Sport is well catered for too, with a multi-use games area, eight tennis courts (three of them free to use), table tennis, an indoor multi-sports facility and a cricket square with an artificial wicket. A family activity centre opened in March 2018 and a restaurant and cafe operate throughout the year. Away from the activity, visitors can enjoy formal landscaped gardens, natural areas, a nature trail and streamside walks that give the park a quieter, greener side. There is a car park with disabled parking, and the park is open 24 hours a day all year round. Access is from the A4 Bath Road opposite the old Town Hall.
