About King's Head Lane Park

King's Head Lane Park is a children's play area in Highridge, in the Bishopsworth area of south Bristol, managed by Bristol City Council. The playground is laid out across three levels, giving it an unusual sense of adventure for a neighbourhood park. The upper level has a girospiral and a typhoon set in areas of bark mulch surfacing for older children; the middle level centres on a pirate boat with a slide, set in a sea of blue safety surfacing with climbing boulders and sand, plus an accessible basket swing; and the lower level has cradle swings, a spinning dish, springers and climbing cubes. With equipment for all age ranges and a sand play area, it keeps a mix of ages occupied. Log benches sit throughout the site alongside boulders and logs, and the play area is surrounded by lots of trees and areas of open grass. Most of the play area is accessible to wheelchair users, with tarmac footpaths connecting through the park. The whole play area is enclosed with metal railings to ensure it is dog free, which many families with young children value. The park is open at all times with no charge for admission.
