About King's Park
King's Park is one of Bournemouth's largest open spaces, lying on the eastern side of the town close to Boscombe and next to the Kings Park Leisure and Learning Centre. The park is best known for its sports pitches and athletics heritage, and it also offers families a well-equipped children's play area managed by BCP Council. The main play area is suitable for toddlers through to teenagers and features timber tangle wooden adventure play, a climbing frame, swings, a roundabout and a ball court, so there is something for a wide range of ages. Free off-road parking is available on site, and there is a cafe for refreshments, making it a convenient spot for a longer family visit. The surrounding parkland gives plenty of room for ball games, picnics and running around, and the park connects to wider green space in the area. King's Park is free to enter and is owned and managed by BCP Council, which covers Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. As an open park the grounds are generally accessible throughout the day, though the fenced play equipment may close around dusk.
