About Holmescarr Play Area, Rossington
The Holmescarr play area sits on Grange Lane in New Rossington, a former mining community on the south-east side of the Doncaster borough. It is one of several neighbourhood play areas that the council provides across Rossington, and it has both toddler and junior play equipment, so children of different ages have somewhere to play close to home. The play area is set in grassed open space and is next to the Holmescarr community centre, which is a focal point for local activities, making it a familiar and well-used spot for Rossington families. As a local play facility rather than a large destination park, it is best suited to a short outdoor visit, a quick play on the way past or an everyday trip out with younger children. On-street parking is available nearby. The play area is managed by City of Doncaster Council and is free to use. For families in New Rossington it offers a simple, accessible place for children to burn off energy without needing to travel into town, and it is complemented by other council play areas elsewhere in the village such as Atterby Drive and Brodsworth Way.
