About Stoneham Park
Stoneham Park is a valued community park in the Aldrington area of Hove, managed by Brighton & Hove City Council and free to visit. It is always open and especially well suited to families with young children, as it has two separate play areas. One is designed for younger children, with a sandpit and a colourful mural on the wall, while the other sits in the main body of the park and has larger climbing equipment, swings and slides. Alongside the play areas, the recreation ground includes a multi-use games area for football and other sports and a basketball court. A distinctive pigs sculpture commemorates the park's history, as the land was given to the people of Hove as open recreation space in 1906. The park is laid out on flat, even ground with accessible paths throughout and plenty of benches, and a community cafe is on-site and also accessible, though its hours vary so it is best to check the cafe's Facebook page. There are no public toilets on-site; the nearest accessible toilet is at Hove Museum and Art Gallery. Parking is on-street only. Stoneham Park first earned a Green Flag award in 2006.
