About Sherwood Green
Sherwood Green is a small public open space in the Sharoe Green part of Fulwood, in the north of Preston. It is one of several greens that give Fulwood its leafy, suburban character, and it is maintained by Preston City Council as free, open-access greenspace for the surrounding residential streets. The green includes a children's play area, which Preston City Council has invested in through its rolling programme of play-area upgrades; improvement work has in the past included refreshing the play equipment and replacing worn surfacing beneath it to keep the area usable in wetter weather. The site is primarily a local amenity rather than a large destination park, so it suits families living nearby who want a short walk to somewhere the children can play. Surrounded by housing, it offers open grass for informal games alongside the fixed play equipment. Visitors should note that specific details such as exact opening hours, age suitability, parking and toilets are not published by the council for this smaller site.
