About Grange Park

Grange Park is a neighbourhood green space on the east side of Preston, in the Ribbleton area near Moor Nook, managed by Preston City Council and free to enter. The park sits on the historic site of a former Victorian manor and is close to Grange Valley Nature Reserve, Boilton Wood and Pope Lane Field, giving it a green, semi-natural setting. Its main draw for families is a modern children's play area that was redeveloped at a cost of around 105,000 pounds, with the work funded by the Lancashire Environmental Fund, Moor Nook Central, Lancashire County Council and Preston City Council. The play area was designed to be more inclusive and is split into three distinct zones aimed at different age groups, so toddlers, younger children and older children each have equipment suited to them. Because it serves a large local catchment of young people and families, the play area was a priority for modernisation. Beyond the playground, the park offers open grassland and easy links to the surrounding nature reserve and woodland for walks. Practical facilities such as toilets, parking and refreshments aren't confirmed, so it is best treated as a local play-and-green-space stop rather than a full-day destination.
