About Manzil Way Gardens

Manzil Way Gardens is a small Oxford City Council garden of around 2,700 square metres set just off the vibrant Cowley Road in East Oxford, divided into two segments either side of Manzil Way and close to shops, restaurants and East Oxford Primary School. Each year it becomes the green heart of the Cowley Road Carnival. For families the main draw is a tidy, fenced children's playground set back from the busy road, with swings, a climbing frame, slides and rockers on protective safety surfacing. Older children are catered for too, with a basketball court and a table tennis table on site. The gardens have wheelchair-friendly paths and the play area is buggy accessible, making it easy to reach with a pushchair. There are no toilets on site, but the many cafes and restaurants along Cowley Road are only steps away. There is no dedicated on-site parking, with the nearest being Union Street car park, though the gardens are an easy walk or short cycle from the city centre and well served by regular buses. As a council green space it is free and open to the public.
