About Cutteslowe and Sunnymead Park
Cutteslowe and Sunnymead Park is a 42-hectare green space in the far north of Oxford, split between Cutteslowe Park to the north and Sunnymead Park to the south. Managed by Oxford City Council, it is one of the city's biggest and best-equipped parks for families. There are three children's play areas in total, two on the Cutteslowe side and one on the Sunnymead side, along with climbing tree trunks for more adventurous play. Beyond the playgrounds the park packs in a huge range of activities: bookable tennis courts, two beach volleyball courts, a street sports site with basketball, outdoor table tennis, and a skate park with ramps. Younger visitors enjoy the duck pond, aviary and the miniature railway, which runs from April to October, while a miniature golf course adds to the fun. A kiosk serves hot and cold drinks, snacks and treats, and there are toilets at the park and the pavilion. Two car parks serve the site, one at the Harbord Road entrance and one off the A40, though parking charges apply. The park is open all day, every day, and entry is free.
