About Woolston Park
Woolston Park is a large 56-acre park in the Woolston area of Warrington, managed by Warrington Borough Council and officially opened in 1977. It was created from neglected farmland to provide a refuge for people and wildlife, with much of its landscape constructed by transporting soil to build gentle hills. For families there are three modern, well-maintained play areas, including a newer play area with a zip wire and the long-standing 'A B frame' play feature, giving children plenty of choice across the park. Sport is well catered for too, with football pitches, rugby posts and two cricket strips. The grounds include the Jubilee Gardens, created to mark Queen Elizabeth II's Silver Jubilee, as well as woodland walks, water features, wetlands and grasslands that make it a good spot for a longer wander. There are picnic benches and a car park on site, and the park is open 24 hours a day. Free to enter and generously sized, Woolston Park suits families wanting a mix of play, sport and natural green space in eastern Warrington.
