About Orford Park

Orford Park is a traditional municipal park set in the heart of Warrington, on land that once formed part of the estate and gardens of the long-demolished Orford Hall. The hall and surrounding land were donated to Warrington Council in December 1916, and the grounds have been a public green space ever since, now managed by Warrington Borough Council. Covering around 18 acres, the park offers children's playgrounds catering for different age groups, a skate park suitable for a range of skill levels, and a ball court, alongside football pitches, a bowling green and two tennis courts. There are open playing fields for informal games and a pond that was added at the northern edge during a major redevelopment. That £30 million scheme, completed in 2012, created the adjacent Orford Jubilee Neighbourhood Hub and new paved paths for pedestrians and cyclists. The park supports local wildlife, including birds, mammals and amphibians. Free to enter and close to the town centre, Orford Park is a versatile space for family play, skating and organised sport in north Warrington.
