About Alexandra Park

Alexandra Park is a Green Flag park of around four hectares (ten acres) in the heart of Stockton Heath, managed by Warrington Borough Council. It blends formal horticultural features and floral displays with natural habitats, and is best known locally for its highly popular, recently updated children's play area. The play area has a soft rubber safety surface laid over tarmac and includes slides, climbing castles and swings, entered through two 108cm-wide gates. Alongside the playground there are two well-maintained bowling greens, a basketball area, a pavilion and picnic benches, making it an easy spot for a mix of play, sport and relaxation. Refreshments are available at a cafe run by volunteers from the Friends of Alexandra Park (FOAP), which opens on Saturday afternoons from Easter Saturday until the end of August. The park has its own car park and on-site toilets. Free to enter and well located close to Stockton Heath's shops and amenities, Alexandra Park is a reliable choice for a family visit, a game of bowls or simply a walk among the flower beds.
