About Dale End Park
Dale End Park is a riverside green space serving Ironbridge and Coalbrookdale, set within the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site and visited by people from across the region. Its junior play area was reimagined with a bespoke design that celebrates local heritage: a climbing frame inspired by the area's iconic bridges, including the world-famous Iron Bridge, and a wooden steam train that nods to the Gorge's reputation as a birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. The equipment uses sustainably sourced timber and a nature-inspired bark safety surface in earthy colours so it blends into the parkland. Thoughtful, inclusive touches include a parent and toddler swing seat, cradle and basket swings, a rain wheel spinner and a gravity spinner bowl, plus play and mood panels designed for children with visual, hearing or sensory needs. The wider Green Flag park offers riverside walks, formal floral bedding, conservation areas and sports fields on the regatta playing fields. There is a car park on site with disabled bays; there are no toilets within the park, though public toilets are about 500 metres away. The park is free to visit.
