About Coley Recreation Ground
Coley Recreation Ground is a medium-sized formal park set within the Coley Park housing estate in central Reading, on Holy Brook Road. It is a well-used local green space with a slightly undulating banked section at its western end and some perimeter trees. The children's play area was transformed through a 200,000-pound council CIL investment, with local residents helping to choose the winning design. The refurbished playground includes an exciting mix of equipment suitable for a range of ages and mobility levels, from swings and toddler and junior multi-play units to play panels, an accessible see-saw and a Base Climb play unit. A new surface was laid specifically to allow children and carers using mobility aids to access the play area. Around the playground the park offers football, basketball, tennis and cricket with an artificial wicket, plus an outdoor gym for older visitors, so families can combine play with sport. Seating, litter bins and dog bins are provided, and limited roadside parking is available on Holy Brook Road and St Saviours Road. Managed by Reading Borough Council, Coley Recreation Ground is free to enter.
