About Light Oaks Park Playground
Light Oaks Park (also spelled Lightoaks Park) in Claremont, Salford, opened in 1925 and is one of the larger parks in the city, managed by Salford City Council with an active Friends of Lightoaks Park group. Developed around a mid-19th-century house and its retained lake, its duck pond — home to ducks, coots and herons — remains the main attraction. For families there is a children's play area, an outdoor gym, a multi-use games area and tennis courts, and the community-run Tea'osk kiosk serves hot and cold drinks and snacks at weekends and on some weekdays. The Friends group runs community fun days through the year.
