About Exhibition Park

Exhibition Park sits on the south-eastern corner of Newcastle's Town Moor and is one of the city's most popular family destinations. Owned by Newcastle City Council and managed by Urban Green Newcastle, it offers a popular fenced play area with a safety surface, featuring swings, slides, climbing frames, spring toys and seating. The playground is just one of many draws: there is a large skatepark, outdoor gym equipment, basketball and football courts, two croquet lawns and five tennis courts that are free to play. A boating lake with swans and ducks, tree-lined paths and large informal lawns make it ideal for ball games or a picnic. The historic Wylam Brewery occupies the restored pavilion and provides food, drink and toilets, while the Bandstand cafe serves pizza and coffee. A free parkrun takes place every Saturday at 9am. A good network of footpaths runs throughout, suitable for prams or wheelchairs, and the park is well used for dog walking. The nearest car park is on Claremont Road. Entry is free.
