About Ladyhill Park

Ladyhill Park is a spacious park on Chapel Lane in Allerton, Bradford, named after Sir James Hill, a former Lord Mayor of Bradford, and Lady Hill, who donated the land. It is a popular family destination with a well-equipped children's play area featuring swings, slides, a trampoline, a zip line and climbing frames, along with picnic tables and benches so the whole family can relax together. Beyond the playground the park offers a wide range of recreation: a basketball court, a bowling green, outdoor fitness equipment, a full-size football pitch that regularly hosts local matches, and a skate park with ramps and platforms. The park is a designated dog-free zone. It also carries local heritage, with a war memorial of bronze figures unveiled in 1922 to honour local soldiers of the First World War and a memorial stone recognising the land's original donors. The park is open 24 hours a day, all year round, and is free to use. It is managed by the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council. Note that although sometimes associated with nearby areas, the official address places Ladyhill Park in Allerton.
