About Bulwell Hall Park

Bulwell Hall Park is a large public park about five miles north of Nottingham city centre, between Nuthall and Bestwood, managed by Nottingham City Council. The park takes its name from Bulwell Hall, built in 1770 and demolished in the late 1950s after wartime use that included a spell as an Italian prisoner-of-war camp. Today the grounds offer a spacious mix of open grassland, fishing lakes, streams and wooded trails, making it a favourite with walkers and dog walkers. For families the key feature is the children's play area, while the fishing lakes support kingfishers, swans and a range of waterfowl. There is a golf course on the site, with a clubhouse cafe, and football pitches for local sport. The park is also home to a Tiny Forest, planted with OVO Foundation funding on land provided by the council, with an outdoor classroom used by schools and residents. With plenty of room to roam, water and wildlife to spot, and a cafe on hand, Bulwell Hall Park is a good choice for a longer family walk combined with time at the playground.
