About Victoria Park
Victoria Park is a 51-acre hilltop park in Bedminster, south Bristol, established in the 1880s and managed by Bristol City Council. A children's play area was installed as early as 1887 and the park remains a family favourite, offering several play areas today, including one near St Lukes Road with a multi-use games area and outdoor gym, and another off Nutgrove Avenue. Beyond the playgrounds there is a skate and wheels park, tennis courts, a bowling green and a cafe. One of the park's best-known features is the Water Maze, a labyrinth built in 1983-84 in which a shallow channel of water slowly flows from the centre outwards, designed by Peter Milner and created by local environment schemes with Bristol City Engineers. The park sits on rising ground with sweeping city views, so the terrain is hilly and may be challenging for wheelchair users. There is no admission charge and the park is open at all times. There is no dedicated car park on site, and a disabled toilet is available during staffed hours.
